VETERINARY QUARANTINE SERVICES (i) Veterinary Quarantine Stations Animal quarantine stations are available in Kuching, Bintulu and Miri. Animals imported into other divisions must first be quarantined in these quarantine stations. Import of animals which requires quarantine must be admitted to any of these quarantine stations on arrivals. The import of animals which requires quarantine must check with the respective Veterinary Office for the period of quarantine and the availability of quarantine space before the actual import. The State Veterinary Authority is empowered to regulate the import of veterinary, vaccines, animals, riverine fish and their products with the Veterinary Public Health Ordinance, 1999 and rules and orders made. On arrival of animals, riverine fish and their products, they are inspected by Veterinary Port Health Officers at the port of entry before allowed landing or release. Export of live animals or riverine fish are examined and where applicable health certificate is issued together with an export permit.
