The Chemistry laboratory at Agriculture Research Centre Semongok is the main laboratory in Sarawak that provides analytical services on soil, plant, fertilizer and other agricultural materials. Though the laboratory serves mainly the Department of Agriculture, the analytical services also extended to other government agencies as well as the general public in Sarawak. It is adequately equipped with modern facilities, managed by qualified chemists and with experienced and trained staff to carry out its functions competently and efficiently. The laboratory is accredited under the national laboratory accreditation scheme known as SAMM (Skim Akreditasi Makmal-makmal Malaysia). SAMM is compatible and consistent with ISO/IEC 17025, a document jointly developed by ISO, the International Organisation for Standardisation and IEC, the International Electrotechnical Commision, speciffically to advise laboratory managers on essential elements for Electrotechnical Commission, speciffically to advise laboratory managers on essentials elements for both quality management and proper operation of a laboratory.

Analysis Charges
Except for Department of Agriculture, any analytical service provided will be charged. The charges are based on those listed in Warta Kerajaan Ordinan Bayaran 1951 Perintah Bayaran (Analisa Dan Laporan) 1979.
