PUTRAJAYA: Twenty-nine senior officers of the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry (MOA) yesterday signed the ministry’s Key Performance Index KPI) card which contains 191 items that they need to achieve during a specific period.

Its Minister Datuk Seri Noh Omar said the KPI mechanism was introduced for their level to ensure that all the responsibility, trust and mandate given by the ministry were able to be completed in time.

“This has nothing to do with punishment, the performance of an officer will be evaluated based on KPIs, and it is not also about discipline, but we want to see how to improve, assist (the officers) and verify all the weaknesses as well as to identify the reasons why targets are not achieved,” he told a press conference after witnessing the signing ceremony here, yesterday.
