Seminar on Sustainable, Quality and Safe Agriculture Production 2017 was successfully held on 17th April 2017 at the Imperial Hotel, Kuching. The Seminar is a collaboration project among Sarawak Institute of Agricultural Scientists (SIAS), Department of Agriculture Sarawak (DOA), and Malaysia Institute of Chemistry (IKM), Sarawak Branch.  Officiated by Deputy Chief Minister Yang Berhormat Datuk Amar Uggah anak Embas, Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture & Rural Economy Sarawak.


The seminar was also attended by Assistant Minister for Rural Economy (Interior Areas) & Plantation Sarawak Yang Berhormat Datuk Francis Harden anak Hollis; Assistant Minister for Rural Economy (Coastal Areas) & Fisheries and Assistant Minister for Industrial Development (Investment and Promotion) Sarawak Yang Berhormat Datuk Haji Julaihi bin Haji Narawi; and Assistant Minister for Agriculture Yang Berhormat En. Malcom Mussen Lamoh.

In his speech, Deputy Chief Minister Yang Berhormat Datuk Amar Uggah anak Embas, Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture & Rural Economy Sarawak wants all farms in Sarawak to meet the Malaysian Good Agriculture Practice (myGAP) standard by 2020. He hoped that that the State Government will be able to ensure that the Sarawak agriculture product meet the requirement of overseas market.
